In awe with the beauty of the night sky? Have questions about the Universe? This is where you can get the answers. Astronomy Fridays include short presentations on a wide variety of topics and plenty of time for your astro questions. Tour of the Cincinnati Observatory, which as a National Historic Landmark played an important role in the history of Cincinnati and our nation. Once dark, we will view the Moon, planets and deep space treasures through the historic 1845 telescope. (The program is held rain or shine; telescope viewing if clear skies). The topics and the night sky change week-to-week/month-to-month so you can visit often to hear and see something new.

Experience the whole process of producing liquid gold from maple sap. Bask in the warmth of the evaporator and its maple-scented steam. Drop by the sugar house near Krippendorf Lodge anytime between 10 am-3 pm on Saturdays and 12-4 pm on Sundays. Join in an interactive sap collecting maple hike on Saturdays at 10 am, 11 am, 1 pm or 2 pm and Sundays at 1 pm, 2 pm or 3 pm. Hikes start at the Outdoor Learning Center.

Heart bombing is an idea born from the love of places. This February, community minded groups across the country will be heart bombing the places that matter to them. These valentines are love letters to the historic places that appear at historic sites nationwide, on local landmarks, and around places both safe and threatened.
Join Cincinnati Preservation Collective for the crafting event. There will be a second event for the distribution of hearts to specific buildings. Participants of our craft day may join us then or place hearts on their own.

Aiming for a new way to enjoy the great outdoors? Try out your skills with a little target practice! Our archery instructor will guide you through the basics of shooting a compound bow while explaining the archery steps to success. All equipment is provided. Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical

Polkadots follows 8-year-old Lily Polkadot who just moved to the “Squares Only” small town of Rockaway. As the first Polkadot in an all Square school, Lily faces an almost impossible task of gaining acceptance from her peers. From daily bullying, to segregated drinking fountains, Lily’s quest seems hopeless until she meets Sky, a shy Square boy whose curiosity for her unique polkadot skin blooms into an unexpected pal-ship. Inspired by Civil Rights pioneers Ruby Bridges and The Little Rock Nine, Polkadots serves as a colorful history lesson for the world, reminding us that our differences make us awesome, not outcasts.

Autism Family Exploration Day
