Earth Day Events 2017

Earth Day is Saturday, April 22 this year, and there are plenty of great events to encourage families to help our environment and learn more about ecology.

Whether you’re looking for family fun with a natural twist or want to give some hands-on help, we’ve got you covered! Here are our picks for Earth Day:

Cincinnati Nature Center Free Admission for Earth Day Weekend

April 22-23, center hours
All ages
Admission is FREE to non-members.

Hike miles of trails and enjoy the great outdoors with a full lineup of earth-loving programs. 

Cincinnati Earth Day at Summit Park

April 22, noon-5 pm
All ages

Celebrate Earth Day early with a jam-packed schedule full of music and even a recycled costume contest. 

Move That Bamboo at Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve/Ellenwood Nature Barn

April 22, 9am to noon
Recommended for ages 10 and up
FREE (register by 4/20)

Lend a hand removing invasive bamboo from the preserve, then stick around for a special craft!

East Fork/Little Miami River Watershed Cleanup-Various Locations

April 22, times vary depending on location
Children should be able to safely participate (listen to instructions, dress properly, etc). Check site for signup, waivers and event details/safety tips.

Help clean up the watershed to make a direct improvement to our environment.

Party for the Planet at Cincinnati Zoo

April 20, 4-8:30
All ages
FREE after 5 p.m.; parking $10

Learn more about sustainable practices and green products, followed by a Tunes & Blooms concert.
