What mom doesn’t audibly sigh in contentment when she sinks into that lounge chair, leans her messy hair against the rolled-up beach towel and slowly inhales the wafting scent of freshly applied sunscreen? Okay, so maybe it took her a bottle and a half of sunless tanner, a college-fund-sized investment in Spanx infused swimwear, and 17 hours of packing 7 tote bags, but the moment that the sigh leaves her mouth, she is confident she made the right decision to let the kids “Come Out & Play”!
The best news is that Coney Island has been paying attention to what Cincinnati Mamas have been saying over the years. They’ve listened, updated some areas, completely renovated others, and are unveiling the New Sunlite Water Adventure! (Psst..! Season Pass Holders have their very own private entrance!) The treasured landmarks that make it our city’s beloved Sunlite Pool are still there: the Silver Bullet that proudly stands within the world’s largest recirculating pool, the colorful Water Slides, the Typhoon Tower with 73 interactive play stations, the Cincinnati-style food, diving boards, jumping platform, and more remain. However, here at Cincinnati Moms Blog, we were so excited to get a first look at the renovations and improvements and couldn’t wait to share it all with you!
Renovated Bath House
The renovated bath house made the beginning and end of our experience a cinch. The bath house now accommodates the entire family with large, private changing areas, showers, and changing tables. The family changing rooms are large, clean, and bright, and the restroom facilities are right there as well. Lockers are convenient within the bath house to stow away any valuables or extra clothes. Facebook has a lot of raving reviews on the locker system!
Attention to Detail
The pool area is so user-friendly for families, with a water bottle fill-up station, plenty of seating around the splash area, food available right in the Sunlite Water Adventure, incredibly watchful lifeguards, and color-coded and labeled life jackets for various ages/sizes. While interviewing moms around the pool, we found that these lifeguards are the best in the biz.
Holding True to Its Roots
Though Coney Island has been updated for family convenience, the beloved park still holds true to its roots. You can still ride the Silver Bullet, eat delicious Cincinnati food offerings, enjoy the diving area and water slides, and groove to the “fun” casual vibe with the music. If you decide to venture outside the water park (like we did), all the rides (for those big and small) are still there, inviting you to “Come Out & Play” some more!

Love, Gram
We just took our kids for the first time this last weekend (8, 6, 3, and 9 mos.), and it was a blast! My wife grew up going here, but I had never really been.
I was very happy with how family friendly it was. The size of the park is great compared to Kings Island. I can see us doing Kings Island in 4-5 years from now, but with our current kids ages, this was perfect.
We ended up buying the Plus pass, which allows us some fun for the rest of 2018 and covers our 2019 pass. My only complaint is that questions answered to me on the phone were different than what happened in the Season Pass office. For example, they told me I could use my 2019 friend passes for 2018, but then I got a different answer in person. So, that was a bit frustrating.
Overall, excited to go back again this weekend!
So glad your enjoyed it!!
