MeetAmy

“Growing up in a small town in Northwest OH, I will never forget the first time I drove the cut in the hill towards Cincinnati and my new city revealed itself! I felt so proud at that moment to be a Cincinnatian. After graduating from BGSU, I took a job here and soon met and married my husband, Greg, a Bearcat from Cleveland. We both quickly embraced all that is Cincinnati. We are blessed with three children, a pair of girls (Emma, 12), (Olivia, 10), and our little guy, Grant, who is 4. I recently became a stay at home mom to homeschool my oldest daughter. Together, we do a lot of exploring around the city.

I am the author of My Life From Home lifestyle blog, where I hope to inspire a love of fashion, style, and all things home. I also cofounded a local charity event, Swap for a Change, to benefit local women’s charities. We had our first fundraiser last spring and hope to make it an annual event.”

amy2If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?

A perfect day begins with sleeping in since that is a rarity around my house! After that, I would spend the day lying at the beach, shopping, drinking coffee, spending time with my kids and husband and working on a craft project of some sort. In the evening, I would have dinner with friends and family.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be and why?

Yellow. Yellow is a happy color. You can’t help but smile when you see yellow.

What song would you sing at karaoke night?

I would sing Gloria Gaynor’s, I will survive, because it is all about girl power and you don’t have to be a good singer to sing it (which I definitely am not). It’s always a fan favorite and everyone jumps in no matter how bad of a singer you are!

Who would you call for bail money?

My best friend, but come to think of it, she’d probably be there with me! I guess my parents because they would never believe I did it. I guess I was the perfect child. 🙂

If you had a warning label, what would yours say?

If grumpy, check to make sure her stomach is full and she’s had her coffee.

If you had to eat at one Cincinnati restaurant for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Eli’s BBQ or Boca. Can’t get enough of either of those places.

What is your favorite place to take the kids in Cincinnati?Reds Photo

Oh, there are so many! Washington Park, Finley Market, Kings Island, Smale Park, Red’s Games and the Cincinnati Zoo, just to name a few.

What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

I love being a mom! When you hear your child say, “I love you Mommy! You’re the best,” or just an appreciative, “Thank you,” it makes it all worth it.

What is your least favorite thing about being a mom?

It’s exhausting! It definitely doesn’t get easier when they get older. Don’t let anyone tell you that. It is just a different set of problems to deal with.

Welcome Amy!

Jesika Roy
I originally hail from the Land of Lincoln (Illinois), but I am happy to have called the Buckeye State my home since 2007! I have two kids (Milo, 5 & Dash, 2) that I just adore about 50% of the time. The other half of the time I’m dodging balls being thrown at my head while cleaning snot off of my shirt for the 3rd time and reminiscing about the days I actually slept. Also, I love cats. And I have mediocre crochet talents.
