Are you tired of making the same packing list every time you go somewhere with your kids? Did you misplace the emergency contact information and instructions for the sitter, again? Do you need a better way to communicate with your nanny? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then this new mobile app is for you!

Little Peanut on the Go was designed by a mom who wanted to get rid of all the lists on the counter and notes on the fridge, and now you can, too!

Little Peanut on the Go is a mobile assistant for times when you or your kids are away from home. You can create packing lists and to-do lists, build care schedules to share with caregivers, and connect with your kids with updates and photos while you’re away.

Packing List Posts

With Little Peanut on the Go, you can create any number of plans. A plan could be a date night, a family vacation, a weekend with Grandma and Grandpa, or your kids’ time with their nanny – any occasion when you or your kids are away from home. Within each plan you can make a packing list, a to-do list, a childcare schedule, or all three.

Care Schedule To Do List

Let’s say it’s time for a couples getaway (yay!) and your kids are staying with Grandma and Grandpa for the week. You can create a plan for those days and inside the plan, a packing list can be built quickly by selecting items from a library, or by creating your own items. Each item is assigned to the right child, and reminders can be set for the important things. As you pack, each item can be checked off to move it to the packed list. A to-do list can also be made of the things that need to be done before you leave.

Grandparents - iPhoneThen you can build a care schedule for your children that includes daily items like bottles, mealtimes, naptimes, and bedtimes. This daily schedule automatically populates every day of the plan, and then special events like swimming lessons and soccer practice can be added in for the plan’s time period, too.

Next you can assign Grandma and Grandpa as the caregiver of the plan and share the plan with them. After they download the app (for free!) they will have access to your contact information and your children’s information, including allergies, emergency contacts, doctors, dentists, and medical facilities, plus the care schedule. Grandma and Grandpa can post updates and photos from your kids’ day in the app, and you can respond back, too, giving you a great connection while you’re away.

Family Setupevent

There are so many great things about Little Peanut on the Go! It can be used for a simple schedule for a sitter, a quick packing list for daycare, a whole week with Grandparents, or communication with your nanny. All of your emergency contact information is in one place and can be shared with any number of caregivers. And, once you create your family schedule, it populates all of your plans, plus you can re-use and copy plans so you don’t have to keep re-creating all of your lists.

Little Peanut on the Go is available at the App Store and Google Play – download it today!

With the free download you can:

  • set up your family – parents/contacts, kids/medical info, doctors, dentists, emergency contacts, medical facilities, etc.
  • create the kids’ daily care schedule
  • create “plans” for events – a trip, date night, getaway, week with nanny, etc.
  • create packing lists, to-do lists and a care schedule within a plan

It’s a one stop shop to prepare for outings, document your schedule for your own use (think newborn!) and be ready to use a sitter at a moment’s notice. And all information can be shared with caregivers through the app.

The one time upgrade ($3.99) gives you these additional benefits:

  • unlimited sharing in which your sitter will have access in the app to your emergency information and care schedule, plus the packing list to help them get the kiddos ready to go back home (the app is always free to the sitter)
  • ability to send you Peanut Posts which are photos and updates that you can see and respond to

Our contributor Casey tried out Little Peanut on the Go, and here’s what she had to say:
I get tired of writing out and updating instructions every time we have a sitter. For a long time I actually kept a binder that I was horrible at updating because #ain’tnobodygottimeforthat. Whether it’s a sitter or family caring for our kiddos, it’s nice to have a way to quickly update their schedules (like what time Grandpa can anticipate a nap! or when they need to be at preschool). At a minimum, I love having all the emergency and medical info on hand (no more photocopies of insurance cards for me – thank-you-very-much!) and Little Peanut on the Go makes it all possible! I used it for a quick evening out with absolute ease (and the sitter loved it too). I’ve already started my lists and information for an upcoming longer trip that will involve a lot more coordination. It’s totally worth the $3.99 one time upgrade for the extra abilities to share the info with as many sitters as needed. We have a long list of people we’ve used over the last few years, so it’s super-helpful to not have to re-write everything each time. Oh! And for the non-app-users out there (ahem, some of the grandparents) you can e-mail the info from the app too. Happy day!

  1. Oh wow! This app looks great! I can’t wait to try it with my babysitters! I’m always losing the notes I write for them so I have to keep re-writing them each time. Thanks for letting us know about this!
