From the suburbs to Fountain Square, Greater Cincinnati is rockin’ this summer with a variety of free community concerts that are great for the whole family. Here are some tips, what to bring and finally a guide to some great music!
Tips
- Arrive early (but not too early). The trick here is to let kids burn off some steam before the show begins, but not so much that they can’t stay up.
- If possible, choose an aisle “seat” or find a spot near the back so that you can quickly exit with crying children or for potty breaks.
- Check the weather and event website before arriving. Some events will cancel for rain, while others may move or reschedule.
What to Bring
- Swing by the dollar store to stock up on glow sticks and necklaces for nighttime fun
- Pack some snacks and drinks (as permitted)
- Cash for vendors–many events have food trucks or concession stands and many bands also sell their albums
- Ponchos, umbrellas and other rain gear as needed
- Sunblock and bug spray
- Chairs or blanket (check to see what’s permitted)
