Join us as Cincinnati Moms Blog turns ONE! It will be a day packed full of (FREE) fun at Washington Park that you will not want to miss!
The Story
Once upon a time, two friends (and moms) took a chance on a vision. Building on a foundation of love for the experience of motherhood and the City of Cincinnati, Sarah and Jesika joined The City Moms Blog Network and Cincinnati Moms Blog was born. Since the launch, the amazing mothers of the Queen City have helped CMB grow into a fun and vibrant community. One year later, CMB is comprised of a team of 20 incredible writers/women/mothers, has hosted several events to help bring the online community together offline, and has been a tool to support mom-run businesses, local businesses, and some great non-profits. What better reason is there to celebrate?
Two years ago, I left my career, the career I thought I would have forever. I was a little lost, trying to figure out what my new identity was going to be. Founding Cincinnati Moms Blog helped me find my new identity. I am fulfilled and challenged by this business, and my hope is that my gratitude for CMB and all of our supporters always shows through in my work.
– Jesika
Since lauching Cincinati Moms Blog, I have been thrilled at how much more connected I have become with the moms in this community. I am in awe of the mothers who write for us and have been incredibly blessed to meet and get to know so many of our readers. As a Cincinnati native, being a part of this adventure has made me love this city even more than I did before.

The Day
11am-1pm Join us for Washington Park’s Curiosity Saturday, featuring Happen’s Toy Lab and the Cincinnati Public Library. Look for co-founder Jesika and some of the CMB writing team to be there!
1pm-3pm The Birthday Bash! Come sing happy birthday at 1pm, eat cake, shop, play, meet new friends, and celebrate Cincinnati Moms with us. We will have some small activities for the kiddos, make your own play-doh, bubble fun, and a nursing tent for those of you who have hungry babies to feed. You can also check out the playground and splash pad fountains if you choose to do so during this time.
3pm The Bootyard Bash begins! There will be country western music, country-themed games, face painting, stilt walkers, and more!
What We Are Most Excited About
The Red Balloon Cafe+Play is sponsoring a nursing tent for anyone who has a hungry baby to feed. They are providing comfy seating, pillows, and more to help you get out of the sun and feed your baby in comfort. (Bottle babies are welcome too!)
Little Acorn Consulting will be there teaching you and your kids how to make your own play-doh!
Special thanks as well to kandid.ly who will be on hand to take picture of the celebration.
What Else Should You Bring
- Picnic Lunch – If you plan to come early and stay later, you may want to pack a lunch for the littles. There will be food trucks in the late afternoon as part of the Bootyard Bash at 3pm, but if your kids are anything like ours… they will not wait that long to eat lunch!
- Swim gear – If your kiddo is going to be unable to resist the fountains… (and really, what kid is??), you will want to throw a swimsuit and/or extra set of clothes in your bag. (And towels in your car.)
- Water play items – To add extra fun, bring along some items to play with in the fountains! You are welcome to bring your favorite water toys, but be aware that things can get lost in the hustle and bustle of the fountains! For convenience, you could bring things that aren’t special to you or your little one, like empty water bottles, yogurt containers, old measuring cups, etc.
Parking
Washington Park has a garage located just underneath it, which is a great option if you are coming earlier in the day. The garage does tend to fill up on event days, but there is also plenty of metered parking in the blocks that surround the park.
