Pumpkin Patch

This list is admittedly far from complete, but the following are a few of the tried and true Pumpkin Patches that have withstood the test of time.  Before heading out to any of these locations, I highly recommend checking out the farm’s official site for the most up to date information as some of the activities are weather permitting and subject to change.

Irons Fruit Farm

Where: 1640 Stubbs Mill Rd  Lebanon, OH  45036

When: Weekends beginning the last weekend in September continuing through October.  Hayrides to the pumpkin patch and corn maze run 11am-5pm

Admission: Hayride and admission to the farm are free, however you will have to pay by the pound for the pumpkins and gourds.  Corn maze tickets do cost extra.  $7 for 13+, $5 for 5-12yrs and free for 4yrs and under.

Helpful to Know: This farm is a lot of fun for the family.  They have rabbits, goats, pigs, turkeys, etc… for the kids to check out.  The patch is a fun hay ride away and you are literally picking your own from the field, so it adds an extra element to the hunt for the perfect pumpkin that you don’t get at the places where they just lay them out for you.  They also have a hotdogs and cider for sale and their store sells delicious apples, apple butter and the best apple fritters.

Shaw Farms

Where: 1737 Ohio 131  Milford, OH  45150

When: Weekends, starting the 3rd weekend in September, 9am-6pm (7pm starting in October)

Admission: Admission to the farm itself is free, however most of the activities here do cost extra.  The corn maze is $5, the hayrides are $3-$4, the train is $2.

Helpful to Know: Shaw Farms does have a selection of farm animals and a cute interactive playground, which gives it something extra for the littlest littles.  Bluegrass music adds to the overall atmosphere.

Blooms and Berries

Where: 9669 S. St. Rt. 48  Loveland, OH  45140

When: Starts the weekend of September 20th, 10am-6pm and continues through October

Admission: $7 farm admission includes I-Spy hayrides, corn maze, straw maze, and storyboard trail.  There are also other activities available for extra cost.  Pumpkins and gourds are extra.

Helpful to Know: There is also a sunflower path to walk, when they are in bloom.  And activities like pumpkin paintball may make this particular patch more appealing for those with slightly older kiddos.

Schappacher Farms

Where: 3829 S. US Rt. 42  Lebanon, OH  45036

When: Open daily in October from 10am-6pm, however most of the Fall specific activities occur only on weekends.

Admission: Both the hayride and corn maze are free at this one.  As with most of these patches, the pumpkins are purchased separately.

Helpful to Know: If you have a train enthusiast in the family, the Lebanon Railroad Pumpkin Patch Express travels to this farm on the weekends.  Tickets are sold independently through the railroad.
