Great Parks Free First Appreciation Days
July 1
As a special thank you to all Hamilton County residents for their continued support of the parks, Great Parks of Hamilton County is hosting its Free Firsts Resident Appreciation Days on the first day of every month this summer. On Free Firsts Appreciation Days, Hamilton County residents can enjoy free entry into any Great Parks without the need for a Motor Vehicle Permit, which is regularly $10 annually or $3 daily. Special appreciation day activities will also be available, including free tourboat rides, free fishing tickets, free wet playground passes, golf freebies, and free kids programs, just to name a few. Blueberry Bonanza, Blue Manatee Children’s Bookstore

July is National Blueberry Month! In honor of this tasty fruit, we are hosting a blueberry bonanza event that is sure to be a treat. We will be reading some of our favorite books that highlight the beautiful blueberry and will create a fun craft that will sure to be refrigerator worthy. Just past the park entrance the pavilion at Hoffner Park will be transformed into a festive Beer Garden. A step beyond festival goers will emerge into a captivating playground of great original music, Fire Breathers, a carnival side show featuring Sword Swallowers and a Bed of Nails! Anticipation will build as a bona fide rock ‘n roll concert unfolds inducing the flow of nightlife activity between Hoffner park and Northside’s dynamic and historic business district. FREE LaRosa’s Balloon Glow, Coney Island  #cmbbucketlist

Live music, family entertainment and Coney’s Classic Rides make for a fun-filled evening. Later, the evening sky illuminates when hot air balloons of every color “glow” for all to see. The grand finale for the event is a spectacular Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks display over the banks of Lake Como. Parking: $8 until 2:00pm; $10 after 2:00pm. There is no charge (other than parking) to view the balloons and fireworks. Normal rates apply for Sunlite Pool and Coney’s Classic Rides. Sunlite Pool will be open until 9:30pm for swimming. The Pool area will remain open for fireworks viewing. Coney’s Classic Rides will stay open until 11:00pm.

Michelle Houts, author of the new series, Biographies for Young Readers, will be here reading and signing her first addition to the series, Kammie on First: Baseball’s Dottie Kamenshek! In this real-life tale we are inspired by Cincinnati’s very own, Dorothy Kamenshek, who rises to national level fame as a star first base player in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League during World War II. Later, fame came again to Dottie when in 1992, Geena Davis portrayed a player loosely based on her in the hit movie A League of Their Own. With Cincinnati hosting the All-Star game this season, fans of all ages will sure to enjoy the spirit of America’s pastime this event will invoke. Girls and boys, alike, will love hearing about a young athlete with a dream – one that is held by many.

Come on over to EnterTRAINment Junction for Christmas in July from June 27rd thru July 31st cool off and enjoy all our great attractions. Build It: Architecture for Kids, Betts House
Now-August 22
The Betts House, Ohio’s oldest brick home, built in 1804, is proud to host a new exhibit, Build It! Architecture for Kids, which offers fun activities on construction concepts for children. Build It! will be on view from May 19, 2015 through August 22, 2015. The exhibit, on loan from archKIDecture of Chicago, consists of nine modules presenting architectural subjects including roofs, tools, and shapes. Build It! encourages children to interact with each module, either on their own or by collaborating with other children or adults. Designed for children age three to twelve, the exhibit promotes visual literacy with activities on shapes, color, and symmetries and provides hands-on opportunities for children to explore architecture and construction. In addition to the exhibit, The Betts House will also have special Saturday activities for children and families, including hands-on programs on roofing and other trades as well as story times and craft activities. On our Family Fun Saturdays, The Betts House will be open from 12:30 – 5 pm with a hands-on activity from 2 – 4 p.m.. Details on additional programs will be available on The Betts House website and Facebook page. All programs will be included with the cost of admission. $2

ArtWorks Mural Tours, OTR & Downtown 
Join us as we meander through historic downtown streets exploring Cincinnati’s collection of larger-than-life murals. Our tour guides, a combination of ArtWorks volunteers and youth Apprentice mural painters, will educate and entertain you by sharing anecdotes about each mural, giving you the inside story on how these large-scale murals came to be. Guides encourage audience participation and will test your knowledge of Cincinnati history by connecting our murals to the history of the region. ArtWorks offers two weekend walking tours in the downtown area to the general public. Our tours are generally geared towards an adult audience but we do welcome interested families to attend. Children under 12 are free but must still reserve a ticket. $20 for adults.

Party on the Plaza is the Eastside’s premier monthly concert series created and produced by the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Anderson Township.
