We all know where to enjoy the taste of classic Cincinnati—a Big Boy with tarter sauce and a decadent hot fudge cake. Since the first restaurant opened nearly seventy years ago, many of us have come to know, love, and crave the family-friendly meals at Frisch’s. Just like when I was a kid, it’s often the first place my kids suggest when we need get lunch out. Epecially with the chance we will be ordering their favorite dessert. Now for the first time ever, there’s a new cake in town.

In honor of their forty-two year partnership with the Cincinnati Ballet’s The Nutcracker, Frisch’s announced the Peppermint Hot Fudge Cake. Since its very first performance in 1974, Frisch’s has partnered with The Nutcracker’s as their primary sponsor, making it the longest running corporate sponsorship in American arts history. To celebrate their partnership, Frisch’s worked with members of the Cincinnati Ballet to create the first-ever holiday edition of their best-selling dessert.

circle_logoI have loved Frisch’s Hot Fudge Cake for as long as I can remember. It’s the one place my ultra-thrifty mom would allow us to order dessert once in a while. It’s what I share now with my kids. The peppermint version of this favorite is as wonderful as the original–refreshing candy cane crumbles sprinked atop whip cream over a puddle of fudge. What more could a mom want after a day of shopping, wrapping, and baking this holiday season? It’s only available until February 7 so get one before they’re gone.

Need another reason to head over to Frisch’s for dinner? While still offering the diner favorites we have come to love, Frisch’s has five new homestyle dinners. These include roast beef, roasted turkey, meatloaf, chicken fried steak, and country fried chicken. After trying a few of the new choices, my favorite is the meatloaf—tender and juicy with a sweet-tangy glaze. All the new dinners come with mashed potatoes, green beans, and a roll for only $7.99. Even my picky tween can find two or three things to love on that list. My bottomless pit of a teenager is sure to walk away satisfied after all that. And as always, kids meals are a screaming deal at Frisch’s. It’s easy to see why this Cincinnati classic is still a family favorite.
