Flying Pig Marathon

The Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, powered by P&G, is the third-largest first-time marathon in the country. Welcoming athletes of all running abilities and from across the country and world, Flying Pig Marathon weekend offers activities and events for the whole family. More than 25 support stations and entertainment all along the course make the event one of the premier marathons in the country.

Weekend events include:

  • P&G Health & Fitness Expo, Friday & Saturday at Duke Energy Convention Center
  • Saturday: 5K & 10K races, kids one-mile race, evening pasta dinner
  • Sunday: Flying Pig Marathon and half marathon plus after-party

Where the Wild Things Play

The Appalachian Festival is one of Cincinnati’s most popular annual festivals, drawing approximately 15,000 people over the three-day event each Mother’s Day weekend. An additional 1,500 school children take part in “Education Day” on the first day of the festival, which is held at Coney Island on the shores of the Ohio River, conveniently located along the I-275 beltway.

AFF will be family and dog friendly with Washington Park’s interactive water park, playground, and dog park open for all of our guests.

Spend the day discovering the gardens of the Taft. Art educator Sarah Jane Bellamy will lead a session of plain air painting that will allow even the youngest artists to create a masterpiece. Taste of Cincinnati

What began as a small, one-day festival in 1979 has grown to become a 3-day celebration of Cincinnati USA’s best culinary delights spread along 5+ blocks in Downtown Cincinnati. International Butterfly Show: Butterflies of the Caribbean

Dozens of countries and scores of cultures, all with one thing in common — a beautiful blue sea. Seahorses: Unbridled Fun

A new, interactive exhibit where guests can discover 10 species of seahorses, sea dragons, trumpetfish, shrimpfish and pipefish. With a head like a horse, snout like an aardvark and belly pouch like a kangaroo- seahorses are anything but ordinary. The way the exhibit is designed; guests will be completely immersed in the world of seahorses with something new to experience around every corner.

I am a native Cincinnatian, born and raised on the West Side and currently settled across the river in Northern Kentucky. I’m a former Highlander, Bearcat, Falcon, and Fulbright Scholar. My greatest challenge hitherto is the one I love the most: being a Mom to an energetic eight-year-old boy. When not working full-time at one of the city’s great hospitals, I’m trying to fit in all there is to do in this wonderful city – and there is certainly A LOT to do! As one who loves to read, I am an advocate for the public library and go multiple times a week. You can often find me at Music Hall enjoying the ballet, opera, and orchestra. I am an introvert, a bit of a foodie, an NPR listener, a pessimist who likes to think she’s a realist, a middle child, an ex-wife and amicable co-parent, a fiancée, and much, much more. I feel lucky to have grown up in Cincinnati and to be raising my own child in this wonderful city.
