Discovering Barefoot Books {Sponsored Post}

Disclaimer:: Cincinnati Moms Blog received free product in exchange for this post, however all opinions are our own and 100% genuine!

I must admit that I am not a huge fan of sponsored product parties.  Thirty-One, Pampered Chef, Scentsy, Pure Romance… we have all been invited to one or more of these over the years.  Many of you have probably even hosted one, or at least thought about it.  I always swore that I would not be one of those people though.  Until now.

I discovered Barefoot Books through Cincinnati Moms Blog, contributor Beth, who also happens to be a Barefoot Books ambassador.  She is very passionate about that role and the product she endorses.  However, even without her strong endorsement, the colorful and engaging books that she showed me as examples sold me instantly.

So, I went back on my word and signed up to host an online Barefoot Books party via Facebook.  Never say never!

Having never done anything like this before… I trusted Beth to guide me in the process.  She recommended an “around the world” theme as this is something Barefoot Books is very passionate about in their products.  All I had to do was pick a day to “host” the party and invite all of my friends on Facebook to join our event.  Beth, literally did the rest.  She set up the event page, posted reminders and took the lead on party night as well.

The party was more fun than I was expecting.  Beth ran with the around the world theme and introduced stories based on parts of the word, different languages and also material that would appeal to a wide range of ages.  She could speak personally to everything Barefoot Books has to offer.  The people at my online party were most excited about these:

CD CollageThese are colorful, engaging and fun stories that come with CDs of music to get your little ones up and moving.  There are more choices than just the ones pictured above.  Adorable right?  Admit it, you want one.

Barefoot Books has a huge selection of books available for all interests and ages.  Mythology, princesses, animals, pirates, monsters and many, many more.  There are even books written in other languages.  The common theme through all of them though is the beauty of the artwork and the creativity of the literature.  Hosting or participating in one of these parties will make you want to buy absolutely everything.  Based on the comments of the people participating in my online party, the feeling was definitely shared by more than just myself.

And while I did have a lot of fun chatting with family and friends in my online party, the beauty of this experience was that it took into consideration the busyness of everyone’s lives.  The online party night was super simple (and you can attend in your pajamas), but as long as they RSVP’d yes, even if they weren’t online at that time, people still had a week to peruse the online catalog as well as the chat and presentation from the party to decide if they wanted to purchase anything.  Of course, the bonus to the person hosting is that you get a % of the sales towards free books for yourself.  My girls are getting these:

I think Nora is going to LOVE the book on the left about princesses in different cultures around the world.  And the artwork in the set on the right is absolutely stunning.  I have no doubt that my princess obsessed five year old will go crazy for these on Christmas morning.

I may throw the Monster Stories in for my younger daughter who does love her princesses, but isn’t quite as obsessed…Monster Collage

Do I see myself embarking on a new and enthusiastic future as an online party host for all of those companies I listed above?  Doubtful.  However, I can say that I understand it now.  When you find a product you love, these parties can be a great way to endorse and support them.  It’s fun bringing something wonderful into the hands of your family and friends.  And of course, I am excited about bringing the product into my own home as well.

For more information about Barefoot Books products, you can visit their website or browse their online catalog.  But, with the holidays right around the corner, you also might want to consider hosting a party for your friends and family.  I know Beth would be more than happy to help you out with that.
