{Dirty} Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte

0

We’re kind of coffee snobs. We have a fancy espresso machine. My husband roasts green coffee beans weekly because good coffee=fresh coffee. We only use spring water in our beloved machine. Go ahead and judge, but we’ve had our machine for three years and using it (at least) daily for two lattes, we have made our money back twice. It was a worthwhile investment for us. And I would challenge you to find a better cup of coffee.

Dirty Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte

I almost always have a Caramel Latte, but I do love a good Chai Tea Latte. I was recently introduced to a Dirty Chai Tea Latte. A Chai Tea Latte with espresso? Totally my jam!

I also love pumpkin. All the pumpkin things. PSL day is a holiday in my house. Surely I’m not alone here. On the hottest day in August, my kids asked for pumpkin pancakes for breakfast. My oldest asked for pumpkin pie for her July birthday party a few years ago. Who decided pumpkin is a fall flavor anyway?!

But when I saw a 3-pack of Tazo Chai Tea Concentrate at Costco for the price of two cartons at Kroger, and I remembered the leftover pumpkin in the fridge from the pancakes, I knew I had to figure out a recipe for a Dirty Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte.

And man, oh MAN. All the heart eyes. ALL the heart eyes.

You have to start with the sauce. It just takes a few minutes, and I’m pretty sure I could eat this sauce up with a spoon.

Your house will smell ah-mazing! Bring on fall, I say!

But YOU can have a fancy Dirty Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte at home too!

  1. Brew your regular coffee extra strong, like twice as much beans to half as much water strong. Espresso is STRONG. When brewing for espresso, you grind your beans really fine. This allows so much more coffee wonderfulness to brew through than a regular grind does in your drip pot.
  2. Over medium heat, add 1/4 cup of chai tea concentrate and 3/4 cup milk to a saucepan. Once it starts to warm through, WHISK. This will heat the milk and create the illusion of frothed milk. Note: The faster you whisk, the better your “froth”.
  3.  In a microwaveable mug, add a heaping spoonful of Pumpkin Spice Sauce and 1/2 cup of chai tea concentrate. Microwave 30 seconds. Mix together until liquid. Mix again when you add your coffee. Mix again when you add your milk.
  4.  Take a minute. Zone out and take a big long sip of your made-at-home fancy Dirty Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte!

Go ahead, pair it up with Hannah’s yummy Pumpkin Cookie with Cream Cheese Icing! I’m going to!!

Give it a try! Let us know what you think!

What is your favorite fall drink?
