Andrea Limke

I am a native Cincinnatian and thanks to a lot of moving, I know this city pretty well. I grew up on the Westside, attended Walnut Hills High School, and then headed to Oxford for an education degree at Miami University. After a few years in Hyde Park, my husband and I are settled in Northern Kentucky for the time being. One of the great things about the Cincinnati area is the abundance of wonderful neighborhoods, schools and family friendly activities! My husband, Andrew, and I have a son, Aiden and our baby girl, Audrey. We didn’t exactly plan all of the “A” names, but it allows us to keep our family nickname – the A-Team. I am an elementary school teacher, but am on a leave of absence right now to be home with my kids. My days are filled with entertaining my babies, taking way too many pictures on my phone and changing a lot of diapers. Thanks to recent open-heart surgery, I have an aortic valve that ticks (like a clock!), I have ornithophobia (Google it) and I broke my hip when I was 18 (I will never ice skate again). But, I do love photography on my “real” camera, pretending I’m a good enough chef to have my own cooking show and playing outside. I turned to writing/blogging in order to document my family’s journey to better health and as motivation to keep myself on track. You can read more about my personal journey at I look forward to sharing the adventure of motherhood with you!

I am a Cincinnati girl, born and raised. After a brief hiatus to attend the University of South Carolina (go Cocks!), my husband and I moved back home with a 1 year old in tow (she’s now 11!). Since then, we have added three more kiddos to our family (ages 7, 5 and 3), and I am lucky enough to hang out with them all day. We love reading, getting crafty, and making huge messes that we will definitely clean up…tomorrow. When I’m not surrounded by children, I dabble in exercise, enjoy reading a good book, and can frequently be found binging on Netflix with my favorite guy. About a year ago, a Pinterest “I can do that!” project painting little superheroes for my son turned into an Etsy shop, Wooly Llama Peg People which I manage to run in my “free time”. I may be slightly sleep deprived, but I wouldn’t trade a minute of my crazy, busy, wonderful life!

Contributor and Events Team Leader

I’m a small-town girl, born & raised in Ohio. I’ve lived in Cincinnati since 2003, and am grateful for all of my adventures in this wonderful city! My husband Mike & I have two daughters, Audrey and Josephine. I have been a SAHM since our first daughter was born, which means most of my days are filled with story-reading, adventure-planning and playing dress-up. I love event planning, fashion and make up. Coffee & Reese’s Cups are among my favorites as well! One of my sought after hobbies is finding time for “Me Time” (by myself that is)….we all do that right? I look forward to sharing the joys of motherhood with all of you!

Feliz Hall

Born and raised in Cincinnati, I grew up on the east side and couldn’t wait to sow my wild oats. After moving away first to attend a small liberal arts college and then for a brief stint in Chicago, I missed the Queen’s city and moved back home. Today my life consists of working in Human Resources for a local aquatics management company, coaching high school swimming, chasing around my two cute kids and somehow finding time to be a wife, daughter, sister and friend. My hobbies include drinking coffee, sleeping, car or shower-singing and stealing away a few minutes to jot down random thoughts on my personal blog, I am thrilled to be able to pass some of those “random thoughts” onto this blog.

Jenny Reed

Contributor and Social Media Manager

I am a Cincinnati native, wife to Neil and mom to a three year old boy named Wally. I am a project manager and consultant by trade and I am also the author of Cincinnati Day Trips, a guide to interesting places within one day’s journey from the city center. I love the outdoors—hiking, fishing, kayaking and any other excuse to be out of the house! One of our hobbies as a family is filling up our National Parks Passport and we visit at least one (often more!) every year for vacation. I’ll never pass up a roadside attraction and love car trips (you can’t exactly pull a plane over if you want to see the World’s Largest Skillet). I recently took up sewing and have a fabric stash that is entirely too large already. I recently ran my first half marathon but am focusing on obstacle course races because they’re so much fun! Failed hobbies include watercolor painting and trying to play the ukulele. I share my adventures, mishaps and projects on my Twitter and Instagram accounts, @suburbinnati.

Maddie Forrester

I am a recent transplant to the Northern Kentucky Area, where I moved last spring after a decade in Columbus, OH. I am the mom of three kids: A son, born in 2009, and twin girls, born in 2011. This is as exhausting as it sounds. Luckily, I thrive on chaos. It balances the glamour life of working full time with the rigors of first grade homework, playing dress-up, and moving mountains (both metaphorical mountains, and mountains of laundry). I had hobbies once, but don’t quite remember what they were. Now, when I get a moment of free time, I use it to catch up on wine and/or sleep, usually in that order. I love to cook, run, sing badly while playing the guitar even worse, and reading.

Lisa Springer

I am a native Cincinnatian, born and raised on the West Side and currently settled across the river in Northern Kentucky. I’m a former Highlander, Bearcat, Falcon, and Fulbright Scholar. My greatest challenge hitherto is the one I love the most: being a Mom to an energetic six-year-old boy. When not working full-time at one of the city’s great hospitals, I’m trying to fit in all there is to do in this wonderful city – and there is certainly A LOT to do! As one who loves to read, I am an advocate for the public library and go often. I also enjoy attending the theater, ballet, opera, orchestra, and comedy club. I am an introvert, a bit of a foodie, an NPR listener, a pessimist who likes to think she’s a realist, a beer drinker, a middle child and only girl, a letter writer, an ex-wife and amicable co-parent, a sentimentalist, a Germanist, a girlfriend, and much, much more. I feel lucky to have grown up in Cincinnati and to be raising my own child in this wonderful city.

Melissa Long

Hello! My name is Melissa. I’m a mother of a little girl named Ellie, she’s 4. I’ve been married for almost 7 years to my wonderful husband Matt. I work at a local daycare as a Lead School Age Teacher full time. I enjoy family time, my church, all things Disney, watching my favorite movies and tv shows, reading and writing. I consider myself a not-so-perfect mother doing her best. I’m not perfect. I may have yoga pants and a messy bun but I care about my family a whole lot!

Tara Limoco

Cincinnati has been my home for the last 17 years, and thanks to the friends we’ve made here, it has truly become my hometown. I’m mom to a sweet, artistic daughter and two curious, thoughtful boys–ages seven, nine and eleven. I’m also wife to a very patient and indulgent husband. He likes to ask me all the time, “Can’t we do anything normal?” Even though we may have different versions of normal, it’s never boring at our house! I love to explore the city, travel, craft, read, hike, socialize, garden, cook, occasionally write for my personal blog at Confused Mommyhood. We also recently started homeschooling the kids. It’s a huge adjustment, but we are loving the chance to spend more time together, become closer and build our love of learning at the same time.

Ashton Carabin

I hail from Tipp City, Ohio where I grew up around cornfields and hometown parades.  I now live near Ault Park, with my husband and two year old boy/girl twins, Shep and Caroline.  You can most likely find me dreaming up party themes, the occasional DIY, DVRing reality television to the point of second hand embarrassment, and playing with (more like chasing) my kids around the park.  Most days I leave the house uncertain I’m not wearing mom jeans.

Erica Riggall

Originally from Rochester, NY my husband and I moved to Cincinnati in 2011 for his job.  I am a stay at home mom to my son, Jacob, and another baby due in early March 2016.  My husband and I also have two dogs, Tessa and Freckles.  As a family, we enjoy time outside at parks, going on walks, the Bengals, and exploring all Cincinnati has to offer a young family! I also enjoy reading, catching up with friends, being crafty and scrapbooking in any free time I have.

Cincinnati native. Wife to Chad. Mom to Madison, Noah, and Lydia. Runner. Coffee lover. Almost 5 years ago, I waved goodbye to my career in public accounting to stay home with the kids. When I’m not being the chef, ref, chauffeur and cheerleader, you’ll find me running loops around my neighborhood or enjoying a quiet dinner and gelato with my sweet husband.

I am a wife, mommy to my sweet and spunky 2.5 year old little girl, Rory, and an art teacher. As a Cincinnati native I love this city and am thankful to be raising my family here. My day job often finds its way into my family life as I love getting creative with my daughter and letting her run wild with paint and lots of other art supplies. I am passionate about encouraging creativity and art making at any age. When I am not crafting or having adventures with my little girl, I love organizing, decorating, shopping for a bargain, exploring new places for family fun around the city, cooking, and searching for local restaurants with great food. I also run an Etsy shop, Aurora Jane’s Boutique, with my sister selling screen printed baby and toddler apparel.

Courtney Snow

I was born in New York and lived in several states before settling down in my favorite city of all time – Cincinnati! I have a biracial family that consists of my amazing and talented husband (Derek) and our beautiful, silly daughter (Adilyn). I work full time, am in school full time for another degree, write and illustrate children’s books, and volunteer on the facilities team at my church. I’ve also started a race relations campaign, “One In Cincy“. I still do my best to be the best mom and wife I can be! I love art museums, the theatre, reading, and Cincinnati parks. I’m a foodie and always love trying new places to eat. I hope other moms find either enlightenment or humor from my posts!

Kate Rich

I am a midwest and Cincinnati transplant, currently living in Lebanon after moving all across the US as a child. My husband and I planted our roots here after college, and strengthened those roots once we started having children. We have been married for 7 years, and our children keep us busy at the ages of 6, 3, and 1. The five of us spend our weekends exploring the parks and museums in the city, and then hitting the library so we can snuggle in with some good books at home. By night I am a certified birth doula and childbirth educator who believes that every birth deserves support. My passion is providing unbiased and experienced support to growing families, whether they are trying to achieve an unmedicated birth, want an epidural, or are planning a cesarean. I blog about all things pregnancy, birth, and parenting in Cincinnati at my website, Tender Beginnings LLC, and can also be found on Facebook.

I grew up in South Bend, Ind., a stone’s throw from the campus of the University of Notre Dame, where I met my husband. I graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a degree in communications/ journalism. I have often joked about the fact I once had dreams of changing the literary world with my words, thoughts and writing – flash forward 20 years later to me buying fart guns at Target and watching Caillou reruns by myself wondering if I brushed my teeth. I do love reading memoirs and non-fiction, but can’t remember a time when I actually held a book that didn’t involve potty time or the Berenstein Bears. I used to run. Now I run after four kids. Our son is 10, our twin girls are 7 and our surprise –errr– youngest daughter is 4. I am wife to Matthew, who owns/operates a chain of local grocery stores here in Northern Kentucky/ Cincinnati, and we live a few houses down from his childhood home in Villa Hills. When we are freezing the winter away here, I’m wishing we were at our condo in Siesta Key, where I actually enjoy cleaning sand off four little people. I survive most days with Baileys in my coffee and love martini nights with girlfriends. I’m the brutally honest friend you can’t decide whether to love or hate. I have a boisterous personality that I blame on being the middle child of four girls in an Italian household. I want my gravestone to read, ‘She loved to laugh and make people laugh.’ Someday I hope to write something other than a grocery list, and have dreams of publishing children’s books. In the meantime, I document life’s happenings in my blog, hoping to give anyone a chuckle.

I am originally from New Hampshire and moved to the Cincinnati area in 2003. I am a divorced mom to 2 amazing boys, Eli 9 and Ethan 6. I lived in Northern Kentucky for the first 12 years I’ve been here and moved to the Westside of Cincinnati in 2015. We have LOVED all the opportunities to explore Cincinnati and everything it has to offer families! We are avid Reds fans and you will likely find us at Great American Ballpark quite a bit during baseball season. It’s basically our 2nd home in the summer! I have a degree in healthcare management and work full-time in Cincinnati. I have shared parenting of my boys, so when we are together, I try to make sure we make the most of our time! Whether it’s seeing Madcap Puppets, exploring the numerous local parks, enjoying the Cincinnati Pops, or cheering on our Cincinnati Redlegs, I strive to expose my boys to as many aspects of culture that I can!  I enjoy music (I’ve played piano for 30 years) as well as being crafty (as time allows!), making crazy cool cakes, and relaxing with my boys, my boyfriend, and our dog Frankie! I’m really excited about sharing a piece of my world with you and this often times humorous and wild adventure I call my life as a mom!

I am a Cincinnati transplant. My husband and I moved here last October from Washington, D.C., where I was an Early Childhood teacher, instructional coach, and most recently principal at a charter school. I’m now a mom to a precious 2-month-old boy and a dramatic 2-year-old golden retriever. I am passionate about education and love spending time with family, reading, walking/ hiking, Pure Barre, taking pictures, discovering new restaurants, fantasy football, and “quick” trips to Target! I’m excited to start exploring all that Cincinnati has to offer a family and to share my journey into motherhood (and undoubtedly some first-time parent laughs) with you!.
