Born and raised in Cincinnati, I grew up on the east side and couldn’t wait to sow my wild oats. After moving away first to attend a small liberal arts college and then for a brief stint in Chicago, I missed the Queen’s city and moved back home. Today my life consists of working in Human Resources for a local aquatics management company, coaching high school swimming, chasing around my two cute kids and somehow finding time to be a wife, daughter, sister and friend. My hobbies include drinking coffee, sleeping, car or shower-singing and stealing away a few minutes to jot down random thoughts on my personal blog, http://beimperfection.com/. I am thrilled to be able to pass some of those “random thoughts” onto this blog.
I am a Cincinnati girl, born and raised. After a brief hiatus to attend the University of South Carolina (go Cocks!), my husband and I moved back home with a 1 year old in tow (she’s now 11!). Since then, we have added three more kiddos to our family (ages 7, 5 and 3), and I am lucky enough to hang out with them all day. We love reading, getting crafty, and making huge messes that we will definitely clean up…tomorrow. When I’m not surrounded by children, I dabble in exercise, enjoy reading a good book, and can frequently be found binging on Netflix with my favorite guy. About a year ago, a Pinterest “I can do that!” project painting little superheroes for my son turned into an Etsy shop, Wooly Llama Peg People which I manage to run in my “free time”. I may be slightly sleep deprived, but I wouldn’t trade a minute of my crazy, busy, wonderful life!

I’m a small-town girl, born & raised in Ohio. I’ve lived in Cincinnati since 2003, and am grateful for all of my adventures in this wonderful city! My husband Mike & I have two daughters, Audrey and Josephine. I have been a SAHM since our first daughter was born, which means most of my days are filled with story-reading, adventure-planning and playing dress-up. I love event planning, fashion and make up. Coffee & Reese’s Cups are among my favorites as well! One of my sought after hobbies is finding time for “Me Time” (by myself that is)….we all do that right? I look forward to sharing the joys of motherhood with all of you!
I hail from Tipp City, Ohio where I grew up around cornfields and hometown parades. I now live near Ault Park, with my husband and two year old boy/girl twins, Shep and Caroline. You can most likely find me dreaming up party themes, the occasional DIY, DVRing reality television to the point of second hand embarrassment, and playing with (more like chasing) my kids around the park. Most days I leave the house uncertain I’m not wearing mom jeans.
Cincinnati native. Wife to Chad. Mom to Madison, Noah, and Lydia. Runner. Coffee lover. Almost 5 years ago, I waved goodbye to my career in public accounting to stay home with the kids. When I’m not being the chef, ref, chauffeur and cheerleader, you’ll find me running loops around my neighborhood or enjoying a quiet dinner and gelato with my sweet husband.
I am a recent transplant to the Northern Kentucky Area, where I moved last spring after a decade in Columbus, OH. I am the mom of three kids: A son, born in 2009, and twin girls, born in 2011. This is as exhausting as it sounds. Luckily, I thrive on chaos. It balances the glamour life of working full time with the rigors of first grade homework, playing dress-up, and moving mountains (both metaphorical mountains, and mountains of laundry). I had hobbies once, but don’t quite remember what they were. Now, when I get a moment of free time, I use it to catch up on wine and/or sleep, usually in that order. I love to cook, run, sing badly while playing the guitar even worse, and reading.
I am a native Cincinnatian, born and raised on the West Side and currently settled across the river in Northern Kentucky. I’m a former Highlander, Bearcat, Falcon, and Fulbright Scholar. My greatest challenge hitherto is the one I love the most: being a Mom to an energetic six-year-old boy. When not working full-time at one of the city’s great hospitals, I’m trying to fit in all there is to do in this wonderful city – and there is certainly A LOT to do! As one who loves to read, I am an advocate for the public library and go often. I also enjoy attending the theater, ballet, opera, orchestra, and comedy club. I am an introvert, a bit of a foodie, an NPR listener, a pessimist who likes to think she’s a realist, a beer drinker, a middle child and only girl, a letter writer, an ex-wife and amicable co-parent, a sentimentalist, a Germanist, a girlfriend, and much, much more. I feel lucky to have grown up in Cincinnati and to be raising my own child in this wonderful city.
Hello! My name is Melissa. I’m a mother of a little girl named Ellie, she’s 4. I’ve been married for almost 7 years to my wonderful husband Matt. I work at a local daycare as a Lead School Age Teacher full time. I enjoy family time, my church, all things Disney, watching my favorite movies and tv shows, reading and writing. I consider myself a not-so-perfect mother doing her best. I’m not perfect. I may have yoga pants and a messy bun but I care about my family a whole lot!
Cincinnati has been my home for the last 17 years, and thanks to the friends we’ve made here, it has truly become my hometown. I’m mom to a sweet, artistic daughter and two curious, thoughtful boys–ages seven, nine and eleven. I’m also wife to a very patient and indulgent husband. He likes to ask me all the time, “Can’t we do anything normal?” Even though we may have different versions of normal, it’s never boring at our house! I love to explore the city, travel, craft, read, hike, socialize, garden, cook, occasionally write for my personal blog at Confused Mommyhood. We also recently started homeschooling the kids. It’s a huge adjustment, but we are loving the chance to spend more time together, become closer and build our love of learning at the same time.
I am a wife, mommy to my sweet and spunky 2.5 year old little girl, Rory, and an art teacher. As a Cincinnati native I love this city and am thankful to be raising my family here. My day job often finds its way into my family life as I love getting creative with my daughter and letting her run wild with paint and lots of other art supplies. I am passionate about encouraging creativity and art making at any age. When I am not crafting or having adventures with my little girl, I love organizing, decorating, shopping for a bargain, exploring new places for family fun around the city, cooking, and searching for local restaurants with great food. I also run an Etsy shop, Aurora Jane’s Boutique, with my sister selling screen printed baby and toddler apparel.
I was born in New York and lived in several states before settling down in my favorite city of all time – Cincinnati! I have a biracial family that consists of my amazing and talented husband (Derek) and our beautiful, silly daughter (Adilyn). I work full time, am in school full time for another degree, write and illustrate children’s books, and volunteer on the facilities team at my church. I’ve also started a race relations campaign, “One In Cincy“. I still do my best to be the best mom and wife I can be! I love art museums, the theatre, reading, and Cincinnati parks. I’m a foodie and always love trying new places to eat. I hope other moms find either enlightenment or humor from my posts!
I was born and raised on the East side of the Queen City. When I left to pursue a music therapy degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, I didn’t think I would be returning. But after five years, a wedding, and a diploma, I changed my tune! My husband Stephen and I agreed that Cincinnati was the ultimate place to raise a family. Amazing parks and nature areas, delicious local food, a vibrant arts scene, and plenty of unique attractions to explore….what more could you want? We packed up the U-Haul and never looked back! Now I spend my days as a part-time nanny to two creative kiddos and a full-time mama bear to my own sweet baby boy, Shiloh. I also recently launched Clarity & Flair, a copywriting business for creative arts professionals. In my tiny slivers of free time, I love indulging in iced coffee, hot baths, and long books–preferably all at once.
I grew up in South Bend, Ind., a stone’s throw from the campus of the University of Notre Dame, where I met my husband. I graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a degree in communications/ journalism. I have often joked about the fact I once had dreams of changing the literary world with my words, thoughts and writing – flash forward 20 years later to me buying fart guns at Target and watching Caillou reruns by myself wondering if I brushed my teeth. I do love reading memoirs and non-fiction, but can’t remember a time when I actually held a book that didn’t involve potty time or the Berenstein Bears. I used to run. Now I run after four kids. Our son is 10, our twin girls are 7 and our surprise –errr– youngest daughter is 4. I am wife to Matthew, who owns/operates a chain of local grocery stores here in Northern Kentucky/ Cincinnati, and we live a few houses down from his childhood home in Villa Hills. When we are freezing the winter away here, I’m wishing we were at our condo in Siesta Key, where I actually enjoy cleaning sand off four little people. I survive most days with Baileys in my coffee and love martini nights with girlfriends. I’m the brutally honest friend you can’t decide whether to love or hate. I have a boisterous personality that I blame on being the middle child of four girls in an Italian household. I want my gravestone to read, ‘She loved to laugh and make people laugh.’ Someday I hope to write something other than a grocery list, and have dreams of publishing children’s books. In the meantime, I document life’s happenings in my blog, hoping to give anyone a chuckle.
I am originally from New Hampshire and moved to the Cincinnati area in 2003. I am a divorced mom to 2 amazing boys, Eli 9 and Ethan 6. I lived in Northern Kentucky for the first 12 years I’ve been here and moved to the Westside of Cincinnati in 2015. We have LOVED all the opportunities to explore Cincinnati and everything it has to offer families! We are avid Reds fans and you will likely find us at Great American Ballpark quite a bit during baseball season. It’s basically our 2nd home in the summer! I have a degree in healthcare management and work full-time in Cincinnati. I have shared parenting of my boys, so when we are together, I try to make sure we make the most of our time! Whether it’s seeing Madcap Puppets, exploring the numerous local parks, enjoying the Cincinnati Pops, or cheering on our Cincinnati Redlegs, I strive to expose my boys to as many aspects of culture that I can! I enjoy music (I’ve played piano for 30 years) as well as being crafty (as time allows!), making crazy cool cakes, and relaxing with my boys, my boyfriend, and our dog Frankie! I’m really excited about sharing a piece of my world with you and this often times humorous and wild adventure I call my life as a mom!
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, my family moved here in 2000. I’m a stay at home mom of two beautiful boys ages 7 years and 8 months which is a brand new adventure for me since I grew up with 3 sisters. I attended Batavia High School and graduated in 2008. Growing up with a chef as a dad, I’ve fallen in love with cooking and trying out new recipes. My kiddos and I enjoy spending time outside, crafting, and board games. I’ve recently taken on the title of dog trainer with the adoption of our German shepherd/hound mix puppy! My hobbies include psychology, movie watching, and photography, but I will never turn down a good book!
I was born and raised on the West Side in Cincinnati and recently made the leap across the river to Northern Kentucky. I graduated first as a Colerain Cardinal and then a Cincinnati Bearcat before circling back to my Cardinal roots to teach Middle School for a number of years. I currently substitute teach in Boone County Schools and love the flexibility and the honesty of kids! My husband, Joe, and I have 3 kiddos: a completely busy, completely “boy” 3rd grader, Sawyer, and twin first grade girls, Evelyn and Emmeline. I am loving the adventure of getting to know our city all over again through the eyes of my kids as we explore, discover and revisit destinations across the Tri-State. I love reading, coffee, snow days, pool days, Amazon Prime, the smell of yellow Mr. Clean and new books, hiking and nature. As I’m just resurfacing from the crazy toddler years, I must admit that I’m still figuring out the rest of what’s going on! I am so thrilled to be partnering with this great group of moms and honored to share a few moments of life here and there with you!
Zandria is originally from Northwest Ohio. She met her husband in the beginning of her freshmen year of college. He is a born and raised Cincinnati west-sider. He took her home to meet the family that December and Zandria fell in love with her husband and Cincinnati. It was an easy decision to make as to what city they would live in after Zandria was done with school. Zandria has been married since 2008 and has lived in Cincinnati since 2009. She has two wonderful boys whom are 4 and 1 and also is pregnant with a third baby due in August 2017. When Zandria is not driving her boys around the city to have an adventure, she enjoys sewing, crafts in general, taking pictures of her family, debating with her husband over who is using a word correctly (and often getting out the dictionary), coffee, and great conversation.
I am Stacey Bayes, mother to my sweet little boy, Noah. When I am not playing “mommy catch!” or wondering why my toddler is throwing a fit, I am engulfed in my makeup and fashion. Oh wait, I was daydreaming again. Realistically, I am a busy mom juggling my little man, a health coaching business, social media company and marketing for my boyfriend’s 3 gyms that he owns. I am always trying to find new, nutritious recipes that I can sneak as many vitamins into as possible. I have a huge obsession with avocados and pizza. (Yes, even health coaches have weaknesses!) When I am not blogging on here or my nutrition blog, you can find me on our nightly family walks, organizing everything and attempting the latest Pinterest project. My life is crazy, but I wouldn’t change it for a minute. Well, maybe I would add in a little more Netflix and chill.
I am a born and raised Cincinnatian who moved away to chase my dreams of something better than home. After years of working for the airlines and living in South Texas, I returned home only to realize the Queen City IS where it’s at. I am a Mom of two wildly different sons (9) & (1), a small business owner and an old house fanatic. Our family can usually be found indulging in the newest eatery, enjoying the parks/outdoor spaces in the city (burning calories from that said eatery), or DIY’ing on our 150yr old home.
I was born and raised on the east side of Cincinnati. For the time being, my husband Matt, 22 month-old daughter Emma and our crazy golden doodle Segundo (“second” in Spanish—the first dog didn’t work out—don’t ask) call Northern Kentucky our home. I am a mom, wife, nurse, runner, scrap-booker, baker and avid traveler. In my dream world, I would be a stay at home mom and live in Northern Michigan, which is, by far, my favorite vacation destination. Despite the fact that I am extremely organized and type A, I am
also spontaneous. One of our family traditions is to make approximately 50 homemade Christmas cards every year. In my free time, you can find my family and I at one of the many parks in the area (our favorite is Smale, especially in the summer), at the zoo or the aquarium. We also love going to Reds games. I look forward to sharing my mom thoughts and adventures!
While I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, I’ve been in Northern Kentucky for most of my life and now call it “home”. The Mister and I have been married for almost eight years. We are Momma and Dadda to Eva (12), Soren (6), and Thane (2)–all of whom will be big siblings to baby #4 by August. As a family, we long to be outdoors hiking, camping, and exploring Cincinnati and surrounding areas. The zoo is our favorite local destination. I love and follow Jesus Christ. I love to read, color-code my calendar, clean our toilets, and eat soft-serve banana splits. I love dancing, the color red, 8 oz coffee mugs, Chaco tan lines, people, and very sharp pencils. I buy books without inhibition. I drink my coffee black. I let good songs finish on the radio before I turn off the car. I miss painting and drawing and rock climbing, but know that to everything there is a season. In the summer, I can be found at Coney Island almost daily. In the winter, I’m probably inside by the fire.
I am employed as a middle school teacher of English Language Arts, but my dream job would be to own and operate a coffee shop. When this baby is born, I will take a year-long leave of absence to focus on our completed family and write.
I was born and raised just north of Cincinnati in Wilmington, Ohio but consider myself a native Cincinnatian: an adopted “eastsider” who fled to the ‘burbs. I believe that Skyline is better than Gold Star, Pete should be in the Hall, the 1990 Reds are the best, OSU fans are so very annoying and the Bengals will never win the Super Bowl. I can’t however pick between Graeter’s and Aglamesis. That would be like picking my favorite child. I attended Ohio University, the ORIGINAL and BEST university with Ohio in the name. Go Bobcats! I started out as an art major but soon decided I liked money and changed my major to retail management. I worked with companies including Stein Mart, Victoria’s Secret and Nautica. Perfect training for the mountains of laundry I now fold daily. In 2001, my husband and I moved to Portland, Oregon (we loved it) and in 2004 our son was born. After a brief layover in North Carolina, we missed Cincinnati and our families, and moved back in 2007, settling in Mason. Our daughter was born in 2009, and our family also includes a neurotic yellow cat that keeps me up at night. I work part-time as a travel agent for Wayfarer Travel (Shameless plug: email me at [email protected]) When not busy working and being my family’s Chief Transportation Officer and ONLY Sanitation Specialist, I like to complain with my friends, travel, watch my kids’ sporting activities, read and watch movies. As a contributor, I hope to pass on my love for this town and remind everyone that parenting is a messy business that is best dealt with a sense of humor, a stiff drink and a supporting cast of family and friends as crazy as you are.
